World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrade allows players to raise the item level of equippable weapons and armor. This improves the stats and may also include buffs or rerolls to an affix.
It is important to note that while you can upgrade your magic and common equipment, it's generally not worth it. Unique and rare equipment will quickly surpass modernized equipment and magic.
Cost
The player must pay gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item is contingent on its current level and upgrade type selected. Upgrades to weapons are typically cheaper than upgrades to armor because weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold needed increases as an item is upgraded.
Upgraded items also come with upgraded stats that will improve its performance in a variety of ways. This includes increasing the power of its attack critical strike chance, or damage per second. The upgraded item can also add additional benefits to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades are able to be used for a number of reasons, including to boost the overall strength of an individual or group unit. They can also have a major impact on the gameplay.
Items can be upgraded at any NPC that is an upgrader in the game. These NPCs are located in major questing areas or capital cities. You can also find item-upgraders by visiting dungeons with high-level bosses and talking to NPCs at the garrisons of your faction.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system lets players upgrade the level of armor, weapons and trinkets. This process is similar to reforging process used in Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor. However, instead of using currency, players have to visit an item upgrader to complete the process.
Item upgrades can be costly, particularly when it is related to armor and weapons. Depending on the upgrade track each step in item level can cost many Valorstones and crests. The cost can be prohibitive for those who do not have the resources or are unable to grind.
Fortunately, the game lets players reroll an upgraded item with an exclusive tool within the menu for items. Requirements

You will require Power Dices depending on the item. (Dice 6 is dropped by monsters 21+, Giants and Bosses; Dice 12 can be found from Bosses). Additionally, you will require different quantities of Minerals and Erons.
Time
Upgrades to items can be a great way to increase your ship's performance and gear without having to level them up. While upgrading isn't cheap, it can be a good way to improve your stats without having spend a lot of time in battle. It's crucial to understand the benefits and costs of upgrades to your item prior to investing time or money.
Each upgrade increases the stats of the item's base by in a specific amount, and offers the chance of obtaining a bonus substat. The random substat may vary from a modest boost to a massive boost. Focus on the items that are best in slot first. They will bring higher returns for your money.
You can view the time required to complete an upgrade by opening your inventory and selecting an item such as a ship, weapon, or accessory. The upgrade window will display the expected completion time and progress. In some cases you may be able speed the process of upgrading by applying an Glyph.
Black Lion Salvage or Ascended Salvage sell a top-quality salvage kit that permits you to recover all or a portion of upgrade components. Rewards
The upgrading of items rewards players with currency and a range of items. Each upgrade also has the chance to grant an random stat bonus. This process uses Growthstones and Sollant but there is a 10% chance of achieving a fully upgraded item after just one cycle. The more levels an item is upgraded to, the greater its boosted stats value and the more items it can upgrade to.
Upgrade components can be inserted into trinkets, weapons, or armor to earn an attribute bonus, or to create a unique effect while the equipment is being worn. Some upgrade components have additional cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving them as gifts. Players can also recover upgraded items by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging using a salvage of a higher tier kit. Glyphs placed on gathering tools can be freely swapped.
By selecting the item and pressing the green button, which has an arrow that rerolls, a player can roll it into an upgradeable item. This will change the layout of the game and let players select up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item will be replaced by a level 1 item. Recycled items will not keep their current level or amount of resources needed to upgrade them.
The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by the item's level and its quality. Rare and Epic items are able to be upgraded up to level nine, whereas common items are only upgraded up to level six. The item upgrades are added to the base stats of the item.
